Fabiola Jean-Louis’  art exhibit at the DuSable Museum, Rewriting History: paper gowns and photographs, is an inquiry into social change.  artwork by Lesley  Dill Students looked at various resources for their "clothing as art" inspirations. In art class, we have been exploring how artists tell stories with maps and photos. 5th graders had the opportunity to ask questions and discuss the photojournalism editing and publishing process with National Geographic Senior Editor (live via webcam and Google Hangouts). Students are now working on their own story maps using an explorer mindset.
