First Day of 8th Grade Art: Photography



8th graders watched a short video photography tutorial about using the aperture setting to control depth of field, focus, and exposure. With the Pansonic Lumix GF3 digital SLR cameras, students chose various subjects to photograph at the West Campus.

Picasso: 4th Grade Picasso, Portraits and Cubism

The fourth graders are working on Cubistic self portraits. They are learning about the process of abstraction, Picasso, and Cubism. Students are making connections in how Cubist artists were inspired by West African masks. Below are examples of resources we are looking at in class and students creating their own self portraits.
