6th Gr. Symbols and Joan Miro

The 6th grade classes are designing symbols in order to develop their own painting style. The symbols will be incorporated into their umbrella paintings. This project is inspired by the Spanish artist, Joan Miro. Below, a student explains some of his symbols and also pictured are other student examples.

5th Grade: Art History and Research

5th graders are researching dragons from different cultures. The students are creating a collaborative Google Slide presentation with their research summaries and original sketches. Next week, they will create their own illustrations and interpretations of St. George and the Dragon.
