Seventh Grade (Diseños de Calaveras) Printmaking Project Intro Demo

This week students are working Dia de Los Muertos projects. I have been working on creating a semi-flipped classroom. This involves using Haiku to provide resources for students to preview, review, and use in the classroom. Since this is a one day project, I created this video as a preview to this week's class. In the past, I have created videos for subs. It is exciting to try new ways of sharing class information!

The need for students to understand and to manipulate materials is imperative. One such project incorporates all of these ideas. It is the origami paper brain model by Martin Pyka. Examples below are from my 6th gr. class. http://www.martinpyka.de/paperbrain/

Met Museum's Amazing Collection: Writing Systems

5th Grade students are studying writing systems.
