5th Grade: Drawing shoes after a discussion on shoe designs. Adding color and pattern. 4th grade: Wacky Bird Sculpture created with plaster of paris strips. After looking at Chicago public sculptures, 5th grade created found paper sculptures. Paper, duct tape, and hot glue.

As a visual arts teacher, I'm constantly trying out new media techniques. Playing around with DOINK's green screen app, I created a short video collage with a Romare Bearden and a stand up bass player from the Miles Davis band. I still need to tweak it and combine it with a narrative.

K-3rd graders created Owl paintings during our after school art class. They focused on working out their compositions on an 18x24 inch canvas and mixing acrylic paint.

My 6th grade advisees are creating gifs using inspirational quotes from important African Americans. We are discussing how the quotes personally and communally resonate with our advisory. It is important to have students understand how digital content is created. It is their first time creating gifs.
