Advisory

Welcome to the Hoffmann Advisory

Fall 2015

During advisory, the students are working on writing goal setting. As a part goal setting, students are developing action plans to help achieve their goals. This can involve broad steps such as getting up earlier/eat breakfast to more specific such as make appointment with Mrs. K to discuss knights program. Some articles are posted below that will guide the discussions and action plans.

In order to learn more about each other, advisees have been doing a presentation about a topic of their choice.

Here are pics from the calligraphy and stamp collecting presentations.

As a part of trying to allow more voices and encourage discusssion, we have been using padlet.com as an interactive blogging whiteboard. There might be a topic, video, or article to discuss. The students then leave comments. These are then archived here incase we want to go back and review a topic.

Next, we will be reading about and discussing the topic, decision making.

Fun in the snow with advisory!

Today we looked at this beautiful tile that has calligraphic writing!  Ramadan Mubarak to all who celebrate ✨ In honor of the start of #Ramadan , a look at this stunning #mihrab , or prayer niche. One of the earliest, finest examples of mosaic tilework, it was made by joining cut glazed tiles to produce intricate arabesque and calligraphic designs. pic.twitter.com/avvZ6DzQV0 — The Metropolitan Museum of Art (@metmuseum) April 13, 2021
